The News Is Depressing …

Watching the news is so depressing. It’s like no matter what station you watch, there’s ALWAYS bound to be horrendous news. Yesterday on the news, the reporters spoke of a man receiving the death penalty, due to accusations of him drugging and sexually assaulting his 14-year-old daughter from July 2005 through May 2006 and burying her body in their backyard. Reporters then spoke about a little boy whose mother and boyfriend stopped for gas, and upon tucking his gun under the driver’s seat, the mother’s boyfriend got out of the car to pump the gas while the mother went inside of the gas station. During the little time that the adults were out of the car, the 3-year-old climbed out of his carseat, found the gun under the driver’s seat and shot himself in the head. THEN, a teenager’s body was found in a park.

This kind of stuff just makes me sad, I don’t know how people can be so cruel and just take away someone’s life like that. Like, what has anyone ever done to you that just makes you want to kill someone?! Everyone goes through things in life, but seriously…taking away someone’s life is NOT the way to go about solving your problems. It’s very sad that those young, innocent children will not get to experience the beauty of life, didn’t get a chance to grow up and really experience life in general. Preschool, elementary school, middle school, high school, graduation, proms, college..so on and so forth, didn’t get to experience any of that. How is someone going to decide when it’s someone else’s time to leave this Earth? Incidents like these just open my eyes even wider and make me realize how blessed I truly am to have been woken up today, because as cliche as it may sound, tomorrow is not guaranteed and I am truly grateful for everything and everyone in my life. I just wish that people would take time out to think about things before they act on them. People need to use common sense and be more responsible.
